Our stringent quality control procedures and exceptional customer service ensure you're receiving a product you can trust and the after-sales service you may need.
Yes, Waterfall D-Mannose is a 100% natural food supplement. If you are currently taking, or have been advised to take antibiotics, please consult your physician before making any changes to your regime.
D-Mannose will cross the placental barrier, but it is as unlikely to cause damage as a spoonful of regular table sugar (sucrose). Research shows that the fetus needs D-Mannose for normal development. If you have any concerns, we recommend that you consult a medical professional who knows you and your circumstances.
Unlike medications such as antibiotics which are classed as chemical substances, D-Mannose is a completely natural simple sugar, classed as a food supplement. For young children and infants, the dose should be adjusted according to weight. Consider the powdered version, or smaller, easier to swallow 500mg tablets.
D-Mannose is safe for long-term use. Only a small amount of ingested D-Mannose is actually metabolised, most of it is expelled through the urine. There is no disruption or imbalance to the microbiome. Its safe for pregnant women and infants.
Pure D-Mannose is an isomer of glucose, not glucose, and it's effect on metabolism is not statistically traceable. We have hundreds of diabetic customers, who while they must continue to monitor their blood sugar levels, have never once reported a problem.
Our D-Mannose Tablets are compressed into measured doses. Each 1000mg tablet contains less than 0.1g vegetable magnesium stearate and HPMC film coating to bind and contain the powder. Each tablet measures at 1.8cm in length, which may make them difficult to swallow, but may be more convinient when travelling. The powdered form has no additives and easily dissovles in water, making it easy for children and the eldery to ingest. Dose for dose, tablets are just as effective as powder.
Our D-Mannose is from extracted from sweet forest timbers (mainly of the hard Fagaceae and Betulaceae families) without the use of solvents. D-Mannose is also naturally occurring in trace amounts in many fruits (berries, tomatoes, apples, oranges, peaches, pineapples), vegetables (bringle, green beans, cabbage, broccoli), legumes (kidney beans, green beans, soybean, lima beans) and spices. Although it is also found in cranberries, the ascorbic acid in cranberries acidifies the urine, creating an environment in which E. coli thrive. Long term, eating fruit and vegetables promotes good health, however the amount of D-Mannose found in food is substantially less than what would be required for immediate bladder support.
When ingested, D-Mannose is absorbed directly into the blood from the upper gastrointestinal tract. Unlike glucose, D-Mannose is not converted to glycogen, nor stored in the liver. It is metabolised eight times slower than glucose, making it a low GI supplement, which helps metabolise fat more efficiently. Within four hours, ingested D-Mannose has been entirely filtered out of the blood by the kidneys and is stored in the urinary bladder. It is now ready to be expelled from the body via urine, leaving no chance for weight gain from D-Mannose itself.
We supply D-Mannose for cats, dogs, and horses. Please see our D-Mannose Pet product if you're considering supplementing your pet's bladder health.
Cranberry juice contains ascorbic acid which acidifies the urine, creating an environment in which gram negative bacteria, such as E. coli, thrive. It is also high in sugar which can promote the growth of bacteria. Alkalising the urine may help prevent bacterial growth.
