John's Story

Here is my story about my own experiences with bladder infection. You should read it in conjunction with Anna’s story:

My first episode of bladder infection came as a bit of a shock to me. I got that low-down grabbing feeling, like stomach cramp, but lower. When I went for a pee, it burned, and my urine smelled very strong.

Fortunately, through Anna, I was familiar with the symptoms, and so knew how to treat the problem (this was in the days before Waterfall D-Mannose®). I immediately drank a pint of water with lots of lemon barley water in it, and a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. Then I took a couple of painkillers, and sat up for a few hours drinking more liquids until the symptoms calmed down a bit, and I was able to pass water less painfully.

I had sat up with Anna a lot of times, but this was the first time I had experienced it myself, and I realised what agony she must have gone through, and how disgusting it is to be plied with foul concoctions that you have no option but to drink.

However, despite our combined best efforts, as is so often the case without Waterfall D-Mannose as part of the treatment, I wasn’t able to keep the cystitis at bay for long, and I had to go to the doctor for antibiotics.

The doctor was great, and he took the condition very seriously. (I’ve since discovered that doctors often treat men better than women when it comes to bladder infection, because of the underlying possibility of a prostate problem being the cause.) Anyway, he gave me a full series of blood tests, and I was fortunate enough to be prescribed an antibiotic that worked with no serious side effects. (First-time sufferers don’t usually have the antibiotic resistance problem that recurrent sufferers have.)

Within a few days I was pain free again.

I thought that was the end of the matter, however, I was wrong. In men, as in women, there is a high degree of recurring cystitis once you have had an episode. Now, however, I just take a spoonful of Waterfall D-Mannose when I start to get the symptoms, and it stops the threat in its tracks. It’s a lot better than sitting up for hours drinking gallons. And it’s better than ruining my immune system and health with antibiotics. Once or twice I’ve had to take more than one spoonful of Waterfall D-Mannose, but I’ve always been clear within a short time. And I’ve never again had to go for antibiotics for cystitis.

Other men have told me the same story. It’s harder for men to get infected, but Waterfall D-Mannose works as well for men as for women. But if you are getting a lot of first signs of cystitis appearing, even if you stop it flaring into a full-blown attack by using Waterfall D-Mannose, you should still visit the doctor to ensure there is no underlying problem.

There’s another commonality with men and women. It’s just as important for men to get up and urinate after sex as it is for women. When you think about it, that makes sense. Normal urine is a poor medium for bacteria to climb up in men, however, after sex there may be traces of a more viscous fluid present which can provide the ideal swimming route for bacteria.

It makes sense for me to use Waterfall D-Mannose as my main preventative treatment because it is so easy to take, and it really does work.

PS: Update, four years after writing the above…Hundreds of customers, both men and women, have told us a very similar story. Usually they’ve gone through similar experiences as Anna and me before finding us. Usually, Waterfall D-Mannose has worked faster than they had hoped for. And without exaggeration, and in the true meaning of the phrase, it’s been a lifesaver for some.
